There are two basic motivating forces: "Fear and Love"

When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.!

The less you respond to rude, critical, argumentative people. The more peaceful your life will become.!

When you are going through a rough patch in life, and we all do, remember that as crappy as the situation may be, it will pass - eventually it will become a distant memory. Sometimes the hardest lessons to learn are the ones our soul needs the most to experience.!

Greatness is not found in possessions, power, position, or prestige. It is discovered in goodness, humility, service, and character.!

You have escaped the cage. Your wings are stretched out. Now fly.!

Progress always involves risk; you can't steal second base and keep you foot on first.!

Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them.!

If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought.!

Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.!

Because your existence in time and space is unique, there are lives that only you can touch.!

The way you choose to interpret your experiences determines the way you live your life;

There is an old parable about a boy who was so discouraged by his experiences in school he told his grandfather he wanted to quit. His grandfather filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to a boil. In the first, he placed carrots, in the second he placed eggs and the last he placed ground coffee beans. He let them sit and boil, without saying a word. In about twenty minutes he turned off the burners. He fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. He pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then he ladled the coffee out into a cup.

Turning to the boy, He asked, "Tell me, what do you see?"
"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," the boy replied.

Then he asked the boy to feel the carrots, which he did and noted that they were soft and mushy. His grandfather then asked him to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, the boy observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, he asked the boy to sip the coffee. He smiled as he tasted the coffee with its rich aroma.

The boy asked, "I don't understand. What does this mean, if anything?"

His grandfather laughed and explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity - boiling water - but each had reacted differently. "Which are you?" the grandfather asked. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity, becomes soft and loses strength? Are you the egg that appears not to change but whose heart is hardened? Or are you the coffee bean that changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the coffee bean, when things are at their worst, your very attitude will change your environment for the better, making it sweet and palatable."

The moral of the parable is that it is not the experience that matters. What matters is how you interpret and react to the experience. We are each given a set of experiences in life. The experiences are neutral. They have no meaning. It is how we interpret the experiences that give them meaning. Your interpretations of your experiences shape your beliefs and theories about the world which, in turn, influence the way you live your life. The grandfather’s lesson is that when you can’t change your circumstances, you change yourself.!
Competition has been shown to be useful up to a certain point and no further, but cooperation, which is the thing we must strive for today, begins where competition leaves off.!
Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.!

One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.!

Happiness comes from spiritual wealth, not material wealth. Happiness comes from giving not getting. If we try hard to bring happiness to others we cannot stop it from coming to us also.!

By taking good care of the present moment, we take good care of the future. Working for peace in the future means finding peace in the present moment.!

A tulip doesn’t strive to impress anyone. It doesn’t struggle to be different than a rose. It doesn’t have to. It is different and there’s room in the garden for every flower.!

You'll know when a relationship is right for you. It will enhance your life, not complicate your life.!

The trouble is, you think you have time.!

Five great enemies to peace inhabit with us - avarice, ambition, envy, anger, and pride. If those enemies were to be banished, we should infallibly enjoy perpetual peace.!

At bottom every man knows well enough that he is a unique being, only once on this earth; and by no extraordinary chance will such a marvelously picturesque piece of diversity in unity as he is, ever be put together a second time.!

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.!
When you feel that you have reached the end and you cannot go one step further, when life seems to be drained of all purpose; what a wonderful opportunity to start all over again, to turn over a new page.!

Inner silence promotes clarity of mind; it make us value the inner world; it trains us to go inside to the source of peace and inspiration When we are faced with problems and challenges.!
I have three precious things which I hold fast and prize. The first is gentleness; the second is frugality; the third is humility, which keeps me from putting myself before others. Be gentle and you can be bold; be frugal and you can be liberal; avoid putting yourself before others and you can become a leader among men.!

I have walked that long road to freedom. I have tried not to falter; I have made missteps along the way. But I have discovered the secret that after climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb. I have taken a moment here to rest, to steal a view of the glorious vista that surrounds me, to look back on the distance I have come. But I can only rest for a moment, for with freedom come responsibilities, and I dare not linger, for my long walk is not ended.!
To laugh often and much;

To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;

To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;

To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;

To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;

To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.

This is to have succeeded.!
Listen to your possibilities, not your insecurities.!
We have become not a melting pot but a beautiful mosaic. Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams.!

He who knows patience knows peace.!

Peace is not merely the absence of conflict in your life. It is also the defeat of the self-doubt that was in your path.!
This world is like a mountain. Your echo depends on you. If you scream good things, the world will give it back. If you scream bad things, the world will give it back. Even if someone says badly about you, speak well about him. Change your heart to change the world.!
Life is never about proving people that you are a good person. Sometimes, bad things matter, For in your dark side, you see people who are ready to light the road with you. It’s not how many your friends are, or how many people roam around you, It’s how few of them accept the real you.!
Life is about trusting your feelings and taking chances, losing and finding happiness, appreciating the memories, learning from the past, and realizing people change.!
Listen to the voice from within you, as you learn to walk through the open doorways, while the doors that close are lessons taught to guide you towards your greatness.!
Don't look back on what has happened, Disappointments and sad things. Instead look toward the future and the joy that each day brings. Don't live your life unhappy from things already done. Concentrate on your accomplishments, battles fought that you have won. The chapters of your life are like a book you might have written. Full of fun and many good times and those when you were bitten. Looking back will serve you no purpose and is a waste of time, Mere lessons from the book of life that guide you down the line. Don't look back upon your failures, instead keep moving on. For life is what you make it and too soon has come and gone.!
Words are seeds they land in our hearts and not the ground. Be careful what you plant and careful what you say. You might have to eat what you planted one day.!

We need to forget what we think we are, so that we can really become what we are.!
